Summer Theme Weeks
Summer Program Schedule and Activities
School is out and BGCU is preparing for our Summer Break Program which begins Thursday June 11, 2026. We will be open from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Friday with our last day being Friday August 7, 2026. The Club will be closed on Friday July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.
We offer nutritional breakfast, lunch and snacks for our members each day provided by the Ukiah Unified School District Nutrition Program and Plowshares.
BGCU Staff has been busy planning fun and exciting activities and theme weeks for our members beginning with Spirit Week June 15 – 19 (see flyer image above). While we have a lot of fun, we make learning fun too with our daily Brain Gain activities to keep those young minds sharp during their summer break. Summer Brain Gain offers youth six weeks of Common Core aligned, project and theme-based activities in math, literacy, and STEM designed to prevent summer learning loss by helping members learn, practice & reinforce new skills and concepts. Throughout the week members will rotate through different learning stations that focus on reading, writing, math and science.
Summer Program Schedule and Activities:
For our summer program, we will be kicking off Spirit Week from June 15–19. Each day will have a fun theme for the children and staff to participate in.
Spirit Week Themes:
Monday: Sports/Jersey Day
Tuesday: Tropical Beach Day
Wednesday: Twin Day
Thursday: Crazy Hair Day
Friday: Pajama Day
Our typical daily schedule will include Brain Gain in the morning. Throughout the week, children will rotate through different learning stations that focus on reading, writing, math, and science. These activities will be alternated throughout the week to keep the program fun, engaging, and educational.
